Kicks To Connect: Meet Rachael Sarra

We’re all about supporting our community, and it doesn’t stop at shoes. Since 2019, we have partnered with Children’s Ground, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering First Nations communities.
To get you in on the action, we have teamed up with four local First Nations artists and transformed their art into four limited-edition shoes. Not just any shoes, $50 for every sneaker sold is donated to create long-term change for the next generation of children. With your help, we’ve donated $92,204 and it doesn’t stop there.
This time around, we’ve teamed up with Goreng Goreng artist, Rachael Sarra. Business owner, radio host and powerhouse, her artwork really is something else.
Fusing her knack for art and our expertise in footwear, the Rachael Sarra sneaker was born! A low-profile style showcasing the artist's dynamic artwork, these kicks feature a tonal collection of pinks, blues and purple, trust us when we say, the outfit possibilities are endless.
$50 supports our nutrition and maternal and child health programs, to give our children the best start in life.
Meet Rachael Sarra
We’d like you to meet, Rachael Sarra. The legend that’s taken her passions and transformed them into a career.
“I learnt at a young age that being creative was not only about art but was also about creating an alternative reality where I felt safe, secure and supported.”
A contemporary artist with a deep connection to Country, each consciously created piece tells its own story. As soon as we set our sights on the ‘Momentary’ print, we knew it was made for our kicks.
“This piece reflects the core of what I do. It’s about the journey of finding my voice, stepping into my deadly power and understanding that with your culture and community around you, any moments of darkness will only be momentary and that our ancestors are protecting us.”
Defined by her engaging pieces, Rachael uses art as a powerful tool to educate and share Aboriginal culture.
“One of my core values in business and life is to be creative and contribute to something bigger than myself. It’s always been important to work with charities like Children’s Ground to have the knowledge and experience on the ground and in the community that will help mob.”
Meet Children’s Ground
Just like old friends, we’ve been working with Children’s Ground for just over four years. Together, it’s been our focus to support First Nations peoples. Guided by local Elders, the not-for-profit organisation builds on the social, cultural, and economic capital of each community they work in to create places of safety and inclusion.
