Meet Our New Rain Boot: The Wader

Introducing Wader, the comfiest rain boot you’ll ever meet. Crafted with iconic Bared support so you can run, jump, splash and play until your heart's content. They’re an absolute essential for wet weather days, although we’d happily wear them in the sunshine, too.
Made With Good Stuff
With an upper that’s crafted from a blend of 50% natural rubber, Wader is smooth to the touch, durable, waterproof and will stand up to the deepest of puddles. Fitted with Global Recycled Standard-certified neoprene gussets and lining to ensure a calf-hugging fit that provides extra foot stability and support.
The pull tab ensures they're easy to get on and off (socks are recommended to make life a little easier) while the lug soles offer plenty of traction on slippery surfaces.
Our new rain boot is also fitted with our signature B.plantfoam™ footbed. The same support you know and love, but kinder to the planet. Our new B.plantfoam™ footbed is made from 72% plant-based materials (USDA-certified biobased). With a carbon footprint of 3.85 kg CO2e, it reduces CO2 emissions by 70% when compared to traditional petroleum-based footbeds. PS. They’re vegan, too.

Thoughtfully Designed
We sat down with Georgie Chipp, our Head of Product to chat about how Wader came to be and why they are so different to anything on the market.
Q. What’s different about Wader compared to other rain boots in the market?
A. It's a rain boot like no other. The silhouette is designed to be worn as an everyday boot, as well so you can get plenty of wear from them all year around.
We pulled apart every detail that makes up the boot, from the toe shape to the shaft width and the overall aesthetics. The extra support and snug fit makes them the most comfortable rain boot on the market and sets them apart from anything else out there.
Sustainability was at the forefront of my mind when designing this Welly and although it is far from perfect we have incorporated better materials where we can to help reduce our impact on the environment and the world as a whole.
Q. Was it difficult to source durable and sustainable materials?
A. Yes - it is always more challenging due to material limitations and costly sourcing for more sustainable materials no matter what shoe it is. We’re really excited to be at the forefront of material innovation in the footwear industry though and to see what we can create next.
Q. What were your biggest challenges during the design process?
A. The biggest challenge we had was creating a design that didn’t look too much like your typical rain boot and that they also had all the support and comfort that Bared is known for. We ensured the most vigorous of wear tests internally across the company to ensure we were happy with the end result and that they could stand up to the deepest of puddles and muddiest of gardens.
Q. What colour Wader will you be getting?
A. Pink!
