WHAT:
Hemp is a highly versatile and eco-friendly material, that is both durable and breathable. Hemp strands are made from the long strands of fibre that make up the stalk of the plant. We currently use a blend of hemp, cotton, polyester, and viscose in our shoe bags.
WHY:
Hemp requires minimal irrigation, uses less fertiliser than other crops and its deep taproot replenishes vital nutrients in the soil.
However, to create a soft fabric that won’t scratch the leather of our shoes, we utilise a hemp blend which includes polyester, a synthetic fabric that's derived from petroleum and is harmful to the environment.
WHERE WE ARE HEADING:
We are phasing out the use of our hemp bags. Starting from January 2024, all newly manufactured shoes will instead be packaged with cleaning cloths made entirely from organic materials.
This new packaging initiative aims to promote sustainability and reduce waste in the footwear industry.
USED IN:
Shoe Bags and The Fit Kit.
