The Craig McRae Edit
Head Coach of Collingwood, Craig McRae reveals his Game Day Secrets and why Bared is a part of his ritual.
How did you discover Bared?
I’d heard a lot about Bared through people around the Club, but it wasn’t until I tried a pair myself that I really understood the hype. As someone who spends long days on my feet, I was looking for something that looked professional but didn’t compromise on comfort, and Bared delivered exactly that.
Why do you choose to wear Bared on Game Day?
Game Day is a long day. From pre-game meetings to the final siren and everything in between, you can be on your feet for hours. Bared gives me the comfort I need without sacrificing style. I want to look sharp representing Collingwood and Bared helps me do that while staying comfortable and focused on the job at hand.
What’s your favourite thing about the shoes?
The comfort, easily. The support is next level, but what really stands out is that they don’t look like a comfort shoe. They have a premium look that works perfectly on Game Day, whether I’m on the interchange bench or speaking with players and key stakeholders after the match.
Do you have any good luck rituals for Game Day?
From when I wake up, to my preparation throughout the day, and even making sure my uniform is exactly how I like it, those routines are an important part of getting into the right mindset. Pulling on my Bared shoes has become part of that process too.
What’s your best Game Day memory (surely you were wearing Bared when it happened)?
There have been some incredible moments, and luckily Bared has been there for a few of them. Scott Pendlebury’s milestone game was incredibly special, celebrating not just an outstanding player but a true club champion. Another favourite was our Round 16 win on the Gold Coast. They’re the types of victories that give everyone at the Club a real spring in their step.
