Sustainable Brands We Love
Sustainable Brands We Love

It is our mission at Bared to create quality and comfortable footwear you’ll wear for years, but as Australia’s first B Corp Certified footwear label, it is even more important that we are continually taking action towards improving our processes to be better for people and our planet.

From committing $500,000 to groundbreaking material innovations that are kinder to our planet, recycling more than 16,000 pairs of shoes, and diverting 78% of our factory waste away from landfill - we are proud of the steps we are taking towards a better future.

And of course, we know like many brands, our journey is far from over. Here’s to five brands that are also taking steps in the right direction.

The Dirty Company

The Dirt Company

It’s laundry, but not as you know it. The Dirt Company boasts a range of household products using ingredients that are the healthy choice for your clothes, your home, and the planet. We especially love their refillable, reusable packaging which looks schmick in your laundry!

The Dirt Company is founded on the belief in circularity with their Refill Return initiative, taking back empty detergent refills for reuse and closing the loop in the process, with no extra expense to the customer or the planet.

Boody

Boody

“The Official Underwear of the Entire Planet™” Boody appreciates that sustainability isn’t easy, but it is important. They create quality, sustainable, everyday basics all crafted in organically-grown bamboo. A fellow B Corp certified company, Boody doesn’t use any pesticides or fertilisers and their bamboo relies solely on rainfall to grow. They are also committed to zero-waste designs which we know is incredibly impactful in the fashion industry.

Sheet Society

Sheet Society

Our favourite dreamers recently launched a range of plant-based quilts and pillows using 100% natural corn fibre. Dubbed “Cloud Corn™” it’s breathable, thermoregulating and a natural alternative to polyester. It also comes in at a very affordable price point making it a big YES from us.

Loco Love

Loco Love

Okay the first thing you need to know about Loco Love is their chocolate is god damn drool-worthy. If you haven’t before indulged in their ‘high-vibe, superfood infused chocolate ritual’ we strongly recommend ‘The Nutty One’s’. Loco Love has always been committed to using only the highest quality, organic ingredients, sourced from fair-trade and local suppliers to create a chocolate experience that is not only delicious but also ethically and environmentally sound. Their beautiful packaging is also now home compostable, made from sustainably grown cellulose, which for us, is the cherry on top!

Great Wrap

Great Wrap

These local innovators have taken what is probably one of the nastiest products in your kitchen and replaced it with the only Australian made compostable stretch wrap. On a mission to end the human reliance on traditional plastics, Great Wrap (for your home or business) is made with food waste and compostable biopolymers.

Unlike biodegradable packaging which only breaks down into smaller pieces of plastic or microplastics, compostable packaging like Great Wrap breaks down into carbon and water, which means it can be safely returned to the earth leaving no toxins behind.

We have been using Great Wrap’s compostable pallet wrap in our Melbourne warehouse since early this year and can attest to it being ace!

Who Gives A Crap

Who Gives A Crap

Okay we said 5, but we simply couldn’t leave out our favourite environmental champions; Who Gives A Crap, which you will find proudly in the bathroom and kitchen of all Bared Stores and HQ. Who Gives A Crap donates 50% of their profits to ensure everyone has access to clean water and a toilet - an incredibly impactful mission given contaminated water contributes to over 1 million deaths per year. Who Gives A Crap’s signature toilet tissue is also made from 100% recycled materials meaning no trees are cut down to make it.
