It’s safe to say we loved our time in NYC. With so many laughs, shoes, snow and ‘pinch-me’ moments, it’s hard to capture it all. But with our SoHo Pop-Up now ended, we thought we better try to pay homage to this glorious moment for Bared. So please enjoy our ode to how much we adore New York.
Goodbye (For Now), New York: A Love Letter to Our SoHo Pop-Up
As the lights dim and the doors close on our incredible pop-up in SoHo, we can’t help but feel a mix of emotions … immense gratitude, bittersweet farewells, and an undeniable excitement for what’s to come. New York, you welcomed us with open arms, and trust us, this isn’t goodbye forever.
From the moment we set foot in our beautiful space and then built it out with all these beautiful elements, we knew this was going to be something special. Every Bared location is crafted to be more than just a store, it’s an experience. A place where comfort meets style, where our mission to revolutionise footwear is felt the moment you step in. And in the heart of SoHo, we brought that vision to life for our US customers, even if just for a little while.
A Love Affair Between NYC and Bared
New Yorkers know their fashion. They know quality. And most importantly, they know when a shoe truly delivers on its promise. Seeing first-time customers slip into a pair of Bared shoes and instantly feel the difference was a moment we never tire of witnessing. Some had already heard of us (and had been waiting for us to arrive!), while others wandered in, lured by our window display or a friend’s glowing recommendation.
The verdict? A love affair was born.
“Why are you leaving? I just found out about you!” “Please, find a permanent spot in New York after this pop-up!” “I’m replacing all my shoes with Bared - I’m obsessed! I can’t believe you’re closing.”
These words echoed throughout our final days, and honestly, we couldn’t agree more.
The Stories That Walked Through Our Doors
Every day brought a new encounter, a new story, and a new memory we’ll cherish forever. We had customers fly in from across the country - Arkansas, Texas, California - just to try on our shoes after searching “comfortable heels” online. We met longtime Bared devotees who finally got to experience our shoes in person, no longer having to guess their size from across the world. And of course, there were the new converts—those who slipped on their first pair and immediately understood what all the fuss was about.
Then there was the unmistakable delight of hearing an Aussie accent in the middle of New York City. A few of our team members brought a little slice of Australia to SoHo, and customers loved the charm, warmth, and easygoing nature that makes Bared, well, Bared. It was a collision of cultures that made the experience even more unique.
Celebrating in True Bared Style
We don’t just sell shoes—we create experiences. And what better way to celebrate our time in New York than with exclusive events? We popped champagne, served up delicious bites, and treated guests to an unforgettable VIP experience. Some lucky visitors even walked away with a free pair of Bared shoes (and probably a new shoe addiction, let’s be honest). The energy was electric, the excitement palpable. New York, you really know how to party.
The End (Or Just the Beginning?)
As we packed up the last pairs of shoes and bid farewell to our SoHo home, we felt the weight of every conversation, every moment, and every heartfelt plea for us to stay. This experience proved that Bared belongs in New York.
