WHAT:

MIRUM® is a high-quality, 100% USDA-certified biobased material crafted from plants and minerals such as natural rubber, cotton, citric acid and soybean oil. Unlike most vegan leathers, MIRUM® contains no synthetic or plastic inputs and is much less resource-intensive to produce than both animal and synthetic leather. MIRUM has been developed by US-based green chemistry platform NFW.

WHY:

MIRUM® is made from a combination of virgin natural materials and upcycled agricultural sidestreams. As this material only uses biobased ingredients and non-toxic chemistry, does not become plastic pollution at the end of its life and is able to safely return its nutrients to the earth. It can also be endlessly recycled into new MIRUM®.

MIRUM® requires no water during manufacturing and dyeing and is engineered to be long-lasting and durable. It is the first material of its kind that is 100% recyclable and 100% circular in nature, with an extremely low carbon footprint.
