WHAT:
Woodpulp is created from recycled wood fibres that can be reused multiple times, up to 20 times in some cases! Even when the fibres are no longer suitable for recycling, they can still be repurposed for bioenergy.
WHY:
Our production opts for wood pulp that is GRS certified wherever possible. The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is a comprehensive international product standard that guarantees third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, as well as chemical restrictions.
However, raw material production still requires logging, causing potential to cause harm to the environment, while manufacturing methods employed by wood pulp and paper mills can result in pollution of the air, water, and land.
WHERE WE ARE HEADING:
We aim to continuously review and evaluate the components we use in our shoes and seek out new material innovations whenever possible. Currently, wood pulp is the most suitable environmentally conscious option for insoles boards, but we will continue to seek out innovators and keep on top of industry developments.
USED IN:
Insole boards.
