A Guide To Styling Men’s Chelsea Boots

2/3/2023

There’s a reason why men’s Chelsea boots have been around forever— they go with absolutely everything. To put it simply, it’s the most versatile and timeless shoe you’ll ever own. It ticks all the boxes for office, bar and weekend attire. With so many options it can get a little confusing on how best to style your boots, but that’s where we come in. This guide covers everything you need to know about investing in the perfect pair of Chelsea boots.

What Are Chelsea Boots?

The ultimate no-fuss boot— no laces, buttons or buckles, just slip on and go. Chelsea boots are a close-fitting, ankle boot design with an elastic side panel. Practical and made for easy dressing, it’s perfect for any occasion. Modern Chelsea boots feature a sleek silhouette, rounded toe and classic heel for a timeless charm.

What Makes Ours So Great?

There are two main factors we consider when we look for the perfect boot; comfort and durability. Safe to say, we’ve nailed both.

Our number one men’s Chelsea boot is the Thallium. Handcrafted with premium leather uppers at our Portugal factory that utilises Blake Stitch construction for durability. With a natural rubber blend outsole to protect the leather soles, you’ll have these shoes for many years to come.

What sets the Thallium apart from other Chelsea boots is all the hidden support. Crafted with a steel shank to encourage flex through the forefoot, and firm heel counters to give the boot structure and support your rear foot. Not to mention, it includes our unique biomechanical footbed for all-day support and cloud-like comfort. This footbed is interchangeable so you can make adjustments to get your perfect fit.

Chelsea boots are extremely versatile and can be worn with both formal and casual attire. The Thallium works well with jeans, chinos and suits so you can have one shoe to wear with all your outfits. To top it off, the Thallium is also available in a great range of colourways.

Black Chelsea Boots

Black boots are a staple in every mans wardrobe and you can’t go wrong with a pair of Thallium Black Leather Boots. As a formal boot, this classic style works best with black or grey suits for office and cocktail attire. To wear casually, try these black boots with some charcoal pants and a simple white tee for something a little more off-duty.

Tan Chelsea Boots

The Thallium Tan Leather Boots can easily be dressed up or down. The perfect addition to your wardrobe that you’ll keep on regular rotation. Tan leather boots pair well with navy, earthy tones and ivory/beiges. Style the Thallium Tan with a suit in these colours for modern formal or some well-loved jeans for a more casual, down to earth look.

Suede Chelsea Boots

How To Look After Your Boots

Protect: New shoes need some protecting before you take then for a test drive. A good Leather Protecting Spray works well to repel water and protect your shoes from the elements.

Condition: Leather is a natural material and needs ot be hydrated to stop the leather from drying out. We recommending conditioning all smooth leathers with Bared Leather Conditioner.

Polish: When the leather is looking a little lacklustre, it’s time to give them a polish. Our Bared Leather Wax are available in a few core colours like black, tan and colourless. This product can be used to nourish and refresh the colour particularly on scuffed footwear.

Shoe Trees: Protect your shoes even when you’re not wearing them. Shoe trees are a wooden device that help hold and retain the shape of your boots. The Bared Shoe Tree is also designed to pull out moisture and combat odour.

Finding Your Perfect Fit

If you’re unsure of sizing, pop into one of our Australian boutiques and get fitted by the experts. Our in-store team will measure you up and use the Fit Kit to customise the fit of your shoes. The Fit Kit includes thinner footbeds (used to give you extra width and depth in the forefront) and forefoot padding (used to minimise extra space through the forefront and reduce heel slipping).
