Bared Footwear X Senhoa
10/2/2018
I first heard about the amazing work of Senhoa when its founder Lisa Nguyen spoke at a female leadership conference. A Vietnamese refugee herself, Lisa, has an incredible passion to help vulnerable women. In 2008 she founded Senhoa, a not-for-profit organisation that works to help Cambodian women who are vulnerable to sexual abuse, exploitation, and human trafficking.
Senhoa's goal is to create opportunities for women at risk of exploitation and raise awareness against modern slavery. By enabling these young women to earn an income and share their stories, Senhoa provides access to the global marketplace, empowering them to become financially independent, and breaking the poverty cycle in their families and communities.
After hearing Lisa speak and purchasing a few gorgeous jewellery pieces, I contacted her to ask if the women of Senhoa could make something special we could create a pair of shoes with, and help spread the word about this wonderful organisation.
From there, the Senhoa Spoonbill heel was born!
For every pair sold, $AUD100 will go towards supporting this amazing organisation. Our aim is not only to sell our limited-edition shoes but encourage our customers to purchase a piece of jewellery and continue to tell the Senhoa story.
